You send me a Microsoft Word version of your document, and I perform the edits and/or add relevant feedback with Track Changes. When you contact me, please specify whether you want editing services or just a consultation. You can read more about the differences between those services — and how to choose — here.
My editing is a blend of copyediting, line editing, and light structural editing. Usually, I edit in “rounds” or stages, giving you time between these to review the changes and incorporate suggestions before going forward.
Consultations with me, by contrast, involve very minimal editing. Instead, they’re mostly an opportunity for you to gain some personalized, professional feedback.
Most of my clients prefer working through email. The benefits of remote work are that you can work through the feedback on your own schedule, and we don’t have to wait for a mutually convenient time before I can begin assisting with your document. However, if you think you’ll need to make an appointment to discuss your writing by phone, please let me know. (Hourly rates apply.)
For more about how I can support your writing process, please see my Scope of Services page.
